D. F. Lukowski Dies;
Native of Poland
 
     Dominik F. Lukowski of 38 Pulaski St., 84, died Tuesday at his home.
     Born in Poland he had lived in Auburn 60 years. He was a retired employee of the International Harvester Company and a former elevator operator at Memorial City Hall.
     Mr. Lukowski was a communicant of St. Hyacinth's Church. He was a member of the Polish Home, the Polish National Alliance and the Polish Meat Corporation.
     Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Pingrin Sr., Mrs. Andrew S. Arezzo and Mrs. Dominick R. Padula of Auburn, and Mrs. Raymond Porado of Bridgeport, Conn., two sons, Stanley J. and Edward J. Lukowski of Auburn; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Lukowski and a sisster, Mrs. Alex Stawiecki of Webster, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Adam J. Leja Funeral Home and in the St. Hyacinth's Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Lukowski Services
     Funeral services for Dominik Lukowski of 38 Pulaski Street who died Tuesday were held at 8:30 a.m. today at the Adam J. Leja Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. in St. Hyacinth's Church.
     Rev. James Cholewki offered a high Mass of requiem with Frank Ciesia giving the responses on the organ. Rev. Stanley Bialaszewski was in the sanctuary.
     Burial services at St. Joseph's Cemetery were conducted by Rev. Gerald kedziora and Father Bialaszewski. Father Kedziora led recitation of the Rosary Thursday night.
     Bearers, members of the Polish Home, were Constance J. Wolczyk, Edward Boomersbach, Matthew Kulis, Joseph and Anthony Wilczek and Joseph Tkacz.

Mrs. Dominick Lukowski
 
     Mrs. Stephanie Buchowiecki Lukowski of 38 Pulaski St., wife of Dominick Lukowski, died yesterday after along ilness. Mrs. Lukowski was born in Poland and lived here 46 years. She was a communicant of St. Hyacinth's Church and a member of its Rosary and Scapular Society, the Polish Home and the Polish National Alliance.
     Besides her husband Mrs. Lukowski is survived by two sons, Stanley and Edward Lukowski both of Auburn; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Pingrin Sr. of Cayuga, Mrs. Raymond Porado of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Andrew Arezzo and Mrs. Dominick Padula of Auburn, 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother John Buchowiecki; one sister, Mary Danielowicz,both of Worchester, Mass.
     Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Adam J. Leja Funeral Home and in St. Hyacinth's Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
     Calling hours are 7 to 10 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. the Rosary and Scapulary Society will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Helen Pingrin
dies unexpectedly
 
     Mrs. Helen Lukowski Pingrin, wife of Joseph Pingrin Sr., of 60 1/2 Lewis St., died unexpectedly Friday at her home.
     Born in Poland, she had resided in Auburn for 60 years. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church and a member of the Auxillary of the Swietoniowski-Kopeczek american Legion Post.
     Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Henry Giusti, Auburn; three sons, Paul Pingrin, MMA,of the U.S. Navy, Joseph Pingrin Jr. of Cayuga, and Stephen Pingrin of Inglewood, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Porado, Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Andrew Arezzo and Mrs. Dominick Padula of Auburn; two brothers, Stanley and Edward Lukowski of Auburn; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the Langham Funeral Home and at 9:15 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
     Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
     The Swietoniowski-Kopeczek American Post Auxillary will conduct services at 7:15p.m  Sunday at the funeral home.

Joseph Pingrin Sr.
of Montezuma dies;
was Thruway worker
 
     Joseph Pingrin Sr. of Dwyer Road, Montezuma,died unexpectedly today at Auburn Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Sayre, Pa., Mr. Pingrin was a retired heavy equipment operator for the N.Y. State Thruway.
     He was a veteran of World War 2 and was past commander of the Donald R. Ward Post, American Legion, and a past member of the Cayuga Fire Department. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Montezuma.
     Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anne Pingrin; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Giusti of Auburn; three sons, Joseph Jr. of Cayuga, Paul R. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Stephen of Gardena, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Anne Lepak, Mrs. Mary Sobus, Mrs. Julie Guariglia, all of Auburn; two brothers, Metro and Nicholas of Auburn; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
     Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the Langham Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church where the Rev. Edward Palumbos will offer a Mass of the Resurrection. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 91 E. Genesee St.

Stanley J. Lukowski
 
     Stanley J. Lukowski, 65, of 260 Seymour St., died Friday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Anna Namisnak Lukowski.
     A life resident of the Auburn area, Mr. Lukowski was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired employee of Auburn Cement Products. He was a communicant of SS. Peter & Paul Church. Mr. Lukowski was a member of the Ukranian National Club, the Polish Home, and the Swietoniowski-Kopeczyk Post American Legion.
     Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Marsha) Tabone, and Mrs. John (Judith) Kulis, both of Auburn, three sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Stella) Arezzo, Mrs. Dominick (Joan) Padula, both of Auburn, and Mrs. Raymond (Stephanie) Porado of Bridgeport, Conn., a brother Edward Lukowski of Auburn; three grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Plis Funeral Home and at 9 a.m.  in SS. Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
     Friends are invited to call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home, 230 State Street.
     Parastas services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday.
     Members of the Ukranian National Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
     Contributions may be made to the St. Peter & Paul School Fund.

Edward J. Lukowski
 
Edward J Lukowski, 75, of 3 Koenig Court died Tuesday at Auburn Memorial Hospital
 
Mr. Lukowski was a life resident of the Auburn area.  He retired from Auburn Memorial Hospital.
 
Mr, Lukowski was a communicant of St. Hyacinth's Church and a member of the Italian Heritage Society and the Polish Home.  An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Lukowski was a member of S-K Post, American Legion.
 
Surviving are his wife, the former Nellie Licata: a daughter, Stephanie Hockey of Auburn, a son, Edward M, of Auburn; three sisters, Stella Arezzo, Stephanie Porado, and Joan Padula, all of Auburn; and two granddaughters.
 
Services will be at 8:30am Friday at Plis Funeral Home and 9am in St. Hyacinth's Church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cenetery.
 
Calling hours will be 7 to 9pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday at the funeral home.
 
Contributions may be made to Auburn Memorial Hospital or the memorial fund of the Auburn Permanent Firemen's Benevolent Association.

Emanuella "Nellie" Licata Lukowski
 
     Emanuella "Nelllie" Licata Lukowksi, 87, of 3 Koenig Court, Auburn, died at her home Saturday, March 2, 2002, with friends and family at her bedside, following and extended illness.
     She was born in Albion on Aug. 3, 1914, and moved to Italy before returning to Auburn in the early 1930s. She was the daughter of the later Caterina and Onofrio Licata.
     Nellie was a self-employed beautician for 70 years, and the first licensed electrolysis operator in Auburn. She operated Nell's Beauty Salon out of her home.
     She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the church's Sacred Heart Society.
     Surviving is her son, Edward M. Lukowski and his fiancee Barbara Rogers of Auburn; her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and George Hockey of Auburn; and granddaughters, Marcie Hockey and her fiancee Jason Wells, and Melanie Hockey and her fiancee David Thomas, all of Auburn; her sisiter and brother-in-law, Angela and Benedict Vitale of Auburn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
     Mrs. Lukowski was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Lukowski, in 1992; and her brother, Joseph Licata.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Mrs. Lukowski at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. today March 5, at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn.
     Contributions in Mrs. Lukowski's memory may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Dr., Auburn, NY 13021.
     "Nellie was a loving and compassionate person, who will be greatly missed by her family and friends."

Stephanie H. Lukowski Porado
 
     Stephanie H. Lukowski Porado, 84, of Boyle Center, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Auburn Nursing Home. Born in Auburn, Mrs. Porado was the daughter of Dominick and Stephanie Lukowski and had lived for many years in Bridgeport, Conn. before moving to Auburn in 1985. She was employed by Vitramon of Monroe, Conn. for 11 years, retiring in 1985. She was married to Raymond Porado of Bridgeport, Conn., who predeceased her in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church, a member of the National AARP, Auburn Linedancers and Melrose Park Seniors. Surviving is her son, David R. Porado and his wife, Rita Moynihan Porado, of Newton, Conn.; a granddaughter, Mary Jane Porado of Glastonburg, Conn.; her grandson John David (Lauren) Porado of Pearl City, Hawaii; her great-granddaughter, Rielly Porado; her sister Stella (Andrew) Arezzo of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews. Stephanie was predeceased by her brothers Stanley and Edward Lukowski; and sisters, Helen Pingrin and Joan Padula. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, in St. Hyacinth Church, where a Massof Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Murphy. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Hyacinth Church or to the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph Retirement Fund.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Nicpon Funeral Home, Auburn.
